Give the Gift of Commissary Cards

Some junior enlisted Marine families may have difficulty making ends meet as they struggle with housing and other living expenses.

Costs of everything are going up forcing some young families to rely on the federal SNAP and WIC programs (food stamps). 

Camp Pendleton on-base housing is always at 98% capacity, and there is up to a twelve months wait for family units.  Living off base stresses family budgets such that some are renting as far away as Temecula, and even living in RVs at local campgrounds.

The Yorba Linda-11th MEU Adoption Committee has taken this to heart and is committed to supporting young Marine families with an ongoing Commissary Gift Card Campaign.

Camp Pendleton's modern Commissaries and smaller Marine Marts are stocked with a broad selection of brand name grocery items, as well as health, hygiene, and household needs.

Donating Commissary Gift Cards is a quick and safe way to assist our MEU families by giving the recipients the flexibility to choose what goes into their carts.

Anyone can order Commissary Gift Cards with just a click here or on the logo above and have them mailed directly to the YL-11th MEU Adoption Committee.

250th USMC Birthday

The US Marine Corps was created on 10 November 1775. Every Marine, both active and Veterans, will celebrate that day.

Every Marine Corps Unit will recognize the date with a formal Birthday Ball if possible. Even deployed Units will acknowledge the Birthday in some way.

Because the many elements and personnel of a MEU change every 18 months or so, this is the first time in a few years that the entire 11th MEU will be together to celebrate the Birthday. It is a bonus that this Birthday Ball will be the landmark 250th celebration.

Historically, the Yorba Linda 11th MEU Adoption Committee has “sponsored” a percentage of the single and junior Marines and Corpsmen to attend the Birthday Ball. But, the large number of members attending this year will make it difficult for the Adoption Committee to sponsor the requested number of members, so the Committee is seeking support from the community.

The Committee has been asked to send up to 170 MEU personnel to the Ball. The Birthday Ball tickets are $105 each. The Committee will gratefully accept any donation amount toward our goal. We will gladly send a written acknowledgement of all gifts for your files. Thank You and Semper Fidelis.
